Michael’s practice emphasizes collaborative practice and mediation. He treats all parties with respect and asks the parties to respect each other. He has collaborated on and mediated complex, high-asset matters as well as cases involving limited resources. He accepts collaborative and mediation cases throughout the Bay Area. He is a member of the Family Law Sections of the Bar Association of San Francisco and the State Bar of California. He holds an AV (highest) rating from Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings and has been selected as a Northern California Super Lawyer by San Francisco Magazine.

Michael has served for many years as a panelist for continuing legal education programs in family law, including panels on Recent Developments in Family Law and Representing Clients in Child and Spousal Support Matters. He has taught law school courses in family law and community property as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of San Francisco School of Law and Hastings College of Law. He is one of the contributing authors to the upcoming Handbook on Discovery in Family Law, published by California Continuing Education of the Bar.
